The Multiple Listing Service that serves the Chicago Metropolitan Area is called the MLS of Northern Illinois (MLSNI). It has the following Illinois Realtor Associations as members:

• Oak Park Board of Realtors

The Chicago MLS has over 72,500 real estate home listings currently for sale, over 37,000 agents who are REALTORS® members, and over 6,200 REALTORS® offices throughout the greater metropolitan Chicago area.

Listing in the MLSNI puts your home in front of agents who are helping buyers find a house in Chicago and Northern Illinois. A recent national survey** found that 86% of buyers end up using an agent when they get serious about finding a house. Our MLS listing puts you in front of these buyers the most ready, willing, able, and motivated Chicago buyers, who usually are pre-approved for a mortgage. If you are not in the Chicago Area MLS, more than 99% of these buyers will not see your property.

Nearly every real estate company that works with Chicagoland buyers uses MLSNI to find homes for sale in the Chicago area. The Chicago area Multiple Listing Service is known by many names, including the MLS, the Chicago Area MLS, the Chicagoland Multi-List, the Northern Illinois Multiple Listings, Cook County Property Listings, Lake County Real Estate Listings, and many more names, such as the names of other large cities in the area: the Naperville MLS, the Aurora MLS, Oak Park area multi list, Homewood Home Listing Service, etc.

Real estate listings for sale from McHenry, Cook, Lake, Will, Grundy, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, DeKalb, Boone, Winnebago, Lee, LaSalle, Livingston, and Kankakee counties appear in the Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois.

Our Illinois MLS listings offer agents a commission similar to what any MLS listed property offers that is why agents from every large and medium real estate company have sold our home listings. If you find a buyer who isn't involved with an agent, you don't pay any commission. Our company and local brokers have had a long and deep relationship with the local real estate community, so agents are comfortable with our listings and our sellers.

Once a property is listed in the MLS of Northern Illinois, it is generally referred to as a listing. It may also be called a home listing, MLS property listing, house multi listing, real estate listing, or any combination of these terms, such as real estate MLS listing.
